Security Council wraps up latest debate on Middle East crisis

The debate, which was convened at the request of Tunisia as Chairman of the Arab Group, began on Thursday when representatives of some 30 countries took the floor. During the debate, many speakers focused on Secretary-General Kofi Annan’s proposal for the deployment of a multinational force to the region, and stressed the need to implement recent Security Council resolutions, including 1402 and 1403, which demand an end to Israeli-Palestinian violence and outline steps towards reaching that goal. After concluding its open debate, the Security Council reconvened late in the afternoon for closed-door consultations on the Middle East crisis. Good news Its sunny and warm right now bad news it wont

first_imgTHE IRISH SPRING is here, with temperatures reaching 16 degrees this afternoon in the capital. However, the Irish winter is expected to return tonight.Met Eireann has issued a wind warning for today, which is in effect until midnight tonight.Despite the weather being perfectly pleasant where we are, tonight, tomorrow and the days ahead are expected to get wild.Tonight will be “cold, wet and windy overnight as heavy and persistent rain gradually spreads eastwards”, say Met Eireann.Tomorrow will start wet, become sunny, then start raining again. If that wasn’t enough, tomorrow night will see sharp frost (sharp frost!).Friday and Saturday will both be “cold and blustery days, with sunshine but passing showers too”, with highs of around 8 degrees.Sunday will see another cold and breezy day, with some showers, hail and the threat of sleet. So there, enjoy the next few hours of sun, it may be a while before we see it again.Read: There was a typically Irish reaction to the Wexford earthquakelast_img read more
