7 7 Alfie Mawson (Swansea City) – After joining from Barnsley last summer, the 23-year-old took his time getting into the Swans first XI. Once he made the breakthrough, though, Mawson proved an excellent addition, shoring up the defence and weighing in with some goals, too. Tottenham are reportedly keen on the youngster, who seems ambitious and keen on continuing his ascent to the top. 7 7 7 7 Andreas Christensen (Chelsea) – After a successful two-year stint with Borussia Monchengladbach, Christensen did look set to return to Stamford Bridge this summer. But rather than finally break into the first-team, he could be set for another switch away from the club with Inter heading the queue for his signature. Southampton have also held interest in the past, while Monchengladbach could return for him, too. Aymeric Laporte (Athletic Bilbao) – Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, and Manchester City are all teams who have recently been linked with a move for the Frenchman, who is still just 23. He bounced back well from a broken leg and dislocated ankle, and a transfer could emerge as the summer goes on. 7 Jorge Mere (Sporting Gijon) – He might only be 20, but Mere, with his fairly imposing figure despite being just six foot tall, has already got plenty of senior football under his belt. Sportings relegation paves the way for a move, either on loan or permanently. His displays at the European Under-21 Championship has seen an increase in interest with Chelsea, Malaga, Valencia, Real Betis, Barcelona, Fiorentina, and Sampdoria all keeping an eye on his future. Ben Gibson (Middlesbrough) – Being a left-footed English centre-back, and a player at a relegated side, means Gibson is certain to have admirers. That he was also in a team that was less leaky than you would imagine, also boosts his ratings. Tottenham are being linked with him, while his name has also be mentioned in connection with Chelsea, Arsenal, Stoke, and Leicester City. Issa Diop (Toulouse) – Two campaigns into his senior career, 20-year-old centre-back Diop is beginning to make a real impact in Ligue 1. He pairs the traditional physical attributes of a defender with a simple short-passing game, which allows his team to build from the back. Tottenham and Arsenal have held an interest in the player, according to media speculation, while Chelsea have been linked with him, too.
