first_imgAn NIH funded postdoctoral position is open in the laboratory ofDr. Vladimir Toshchakov at the Department of Microbiology andImmunology, University of Maryland School of Medicine. Thesuccessful candidate will develop protein interaction inhibitorsthat block the adapter recruitment to activated Toll-like receptors(TLRs). The planned study involves generation of recombinant TIRdomains and extensive screening for drug-target co-crystallizationconditions, followed by a comparative evaluation of a small seriesof candidate TLR inhibitors in cell culture experiments and smallanimal models of TLR-driven inflammation.
