The James A. Gibson Library is holding an exhibition of the works of master Chinese paper cutter, Zhu Musheng. This art form has been practiced for centuries with motifs and themes bearing strong cultural significance in China. One example, Double Happiness, pictured – is a decoration for wedding ceremonies which dates from the Tang Dynasty. The exhibit will run Sept. 12 to Sept. 16 in ST 211. In conjunction, Zhu will visit the Library to teach participants the basic techniques of this folk-art. This free workshop will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from noon to 2 p.m. in ST 211. Space is limited. Participants are asked to register in advance by emailing [email protected] Zhu’s visit, the workshop and lunch for workshop attendees is sponsored by the Confucius Institute at Brock University.
