In his retirement letter, Rayudu had thanked Kohli for believing in him all through his career.Rayudu’s retirement comes after he was overlooked for the World Cup 2019 twice. Rayudu was named in the official standy list for World Cup 2019. However, he was not even considered when Shikhar Dhawan and then Vijay Shankar got ruled out of the tournament due to injuries.Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal were called in as replacements for injured Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar respectively.The team management picked opener Mayank Agarwal for middle-order batsman Vijay Shankar.Moreover, Agarwal is yet to make his international debut in limited-overs cricket for India.In Rayudu’s e-mail to BCCI, he expressed his gratitude towards Virat Kohli and said he had recieved constant support from the India captain throughout his career.Virat Kohli tweeted to wish Rayudu good luck for his life post-retirement.Wish you the best going forward Ambati.
